Amir Cohen-Dor, Partner

Born Haifa, Israel, 1961; admitted to practice law in Israel (1989). Amir is married with two children.

Amir has been with the firm for more than twenty years and his practice is focused upon representing vessel interests and all of the major P&I clubs, in maritime litigation and dispute resolution. Amir has vast experience in structuring, negotiating and drafting joint venture-charter and slot charter agreements between shipping interests. Amir has been engaged on behalf of vessel interests in the areas of marine insurance law and related issues such as, GA, salvage and related arbitrations and litigation, regularly advising P&I clubs and foreign insurers on various issues related to Israeli law. Amir is experienced acting for clients in front of the Haifa Admiralty court and regularly conducts arbitrations before the Maritime Arbitration Association in London. Amir is a member of the Seaman’s Disciplinary Tribunal of the Israeli Ministry of Transport and is a supporting member of the LMAA (London Maritime Arbitrators Association ) and acts as the legal Advisor of the Chamber of Shipping of Israel.

  • Marine injury claims• Marine casualty, including oil pollution claims (civil and criminal)
  • G.A. and salvage claims
  • Charter party disputes
  • Collision and pilotage claims
  • Enforcement of Maritime liens
  • Appearance before the Admiralty Court in complex litigation cases
  • Drafting of Charter Parties, joint venture and slot charter agreements
  • Admiralty litigation and arbitrations before the LMAA
  • Representation of ships’ agents, forwarders and principals in Agency Agreement disputes 

Education: Tel Aviv University (LL.B.).

Bar Membership: Israel Bar Association.

Other Memberships: Supporting Member, London Maritime Arbitrators Association., Member in the Israel Maritime Law Association.
