Amiram Safran, Partner

Born Haifa, Israel, 1939; admitted to practice law in Israel (1966). Ami Safran is married with two children.

Ami Safran has been with the firm for forty years, is the senior partner of the firm and a member of the firm’s management committee. Ami Safran is Israel’s leading and most experienced lawyer in the areas of ship-building, ship sale and purchase and fleet finance, with an international reputation in these areas. Ami has extensive international experience working in all of the major financial and shipping centers around the world.

Ami’s extensive experience includes:

  • Ship-building, ship sale and purchase and fleet finance
  • Negotiating, structuring and drafting complex cross border financial transactions
  • Cross border asset backed finance
  • Lending and syndicated lending
  • Restructuring and rescheduling of debt
  • International sale of goods and services

  • Guarantees, letters of credit and commercial paper
  • Complex lease and lease buyback arrangements for vessel finance
  • Corporate joint ventures (both domestically and internationally) with a focus upon shipping and shipping related services
  • Acquisitions (both domestic and international)
  • Mergers (domestic)
  • General corporate services (house keeping and board level advisory services)

Education: Hebrew University, Jerusalem (LL.B., 1963).
