Dvir Gassner, Partner

Dvir is a partner in the patent practice group. His legal work includes advising on patent portfolio strategy, drafting and prosecuting high-tech patent applications, drafting freedom-to-operate and patentability opinions, corporate IP matters, IP transactions, IP due-diligence, agricultural and health regulatory procedures and advising on patent litigation and oppositions.

Dvir received his L.L.B from Tel-Aviv University and is a licensed Attorney at Law and Patent Attorney. As a computer science expert, Dvir received his B.Sc. in Computer Science (Summa Cum Laude) from Clark University (U.S.).

Prior to joining S. Friedman & Co. as a partner in 2012, Dvir was heading the high-tech department at Webb & Co., and prior to that worked at Eitan-Mehulal & Co.

Dvir lectures on patent law in various academic and business forums. He previously lectured at the Haifa University Faculty of Law, in the WIPO Masters in Intellectual Property program. Dvir also serves as legal counsel to the Israeli Inventors Society, in which volunteer engineers develop solutions for disabled persons.

Dr. Assaf Geyra, Partner 

Dr. Geyra is a partner, heading the patent practice group. His legal work includes advising on patent portfolio strategy, drafting and prosecuting biotech, medical device and pharmaceutical patent applications, drafting freedom-to-operate and patentability opinions, corporate IP matters, IP transactions, IP due-diligence, agricultural and health regulatory procedures, and advising on patent litigation and oppositions. Dr. Geyra has also advised in US pharmaceutical and biotechnology discovery and litigation, for which he has worked closely with world-renowned experts. He lectures on patent law in various academic and business forums.

Dr. Geyra received his L.L.B from Tel-Aviv University and is a licensed Attorney at Law and Patent Attorney. As a molecular biologist, he received his Ph.D. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Dr. Geyra continued his research in biotechnology innovation at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine’s Department of Molecular Biology, where he focused on cancerous and developmental cellular processes that depend on anchoring molecules.

Prior to joining S. Friedman & Co. as a partner in 2012, Dr. Geyra was a partner at Pearl Cohen Zedek Latzer (Herzeliya, Israel) and prior to that worked at Goodwin Procter LLP in New York.
