The shipping department of S. Friedman, Abramson & Co. has served as legal counsel to the Israeli shipping company “ZIM” since its founding, one of the twenty largest companies in the world in container transportation, as well as most of the local shipping agencies and the international P&I clubs.

Our department regularly advises Maersk, the largest container and cargo container company in the world, as well as the Israeli Chamber of Shipping (affiliated with FONASBA), which members are tthe shipping organizations in Israel.

These include legal proceedings before the local courts including the Admiralty Court, cross border financing, purchasing, chartering, sale and purchase of  ships, conflict resolution in Israel and abroad, maritime insurance and related matters, regulation including legal advice regarding entrepreneur, charter parties, joint ventures, slot charters and consortia agreements, antitrust law, WTO (world trade organization), limitation of liability of vessels,  sea pollution issues (civil and criminal),  advice  and enforcement of liens and mortgages  and more.

The shipping department operates in conjunction and in cooperation with the other departments in the firm including International Commercial, Tax and Labor Law.
